With a new month we bring you a new DMPonline release! As always, we appreciate your feedback as it is valuable in getting to know what works well for you, what doesn’t, and if there is anything else you’d like to see improved or deployed. For more details of the latest release have a look here. If you are interested in seeing what we are currently working on please check out our roadmap.
Below are a few highlights that we think might be of interest for you...
Adding school or department to edit profile page
We have an exciting new feature based on our most recent user group. You asked us to add a field for users to display the school or department they come from (#2088). Because each institution defines these differently, we have created the school/department field which enables you to add these as free text for the drop down menu. From the admin perspective, you will need to have the ‘edit-organisation’ permission to be able to add the schools or departments.
If this is something you wish to know about the users from your institution, you will need to reach out to them and ask them to add this to their profile. They will be able to alter their profile, and will simply need to select an option from the drop down menu.

Requesting feedback message field is now mandatory
We have also improved the admin interface message that appears when requesting feedback (#1743). Originally, it was possible to switch this option on without entering any message text to display to end users. In this case, a blank box was shown on the interface and, as this is a mandatory field, this had the potential to cause some confusion. With the new update, when you now switch on ‘request feedback’, the message will be pre-populated. From here, you can copy and paste the sample message or edit this text if you wish. You will not be able to have ‘request feedback function on’ until you have a message in this field.
Versioning of templates
Another new feature that we have added based on user request is the ability to add a version of the template (#2157). The reasoning behind this was that when an institution published a template and later needed to change any aspect of it, administrators had difficulty in knowing which version of the template had been used.
We have now exposed the version of the template, with details automatically appearing under the plan overview text, along with the date it was published.
Other news…
Do not forget that we are running monthly GoToMeetings as drop-in sessions where you can chat with your peers, ask us any questions you have or learn about new features. In our latest drop-in session, we introduced our newest members of staff, Sarah told you about her current work in Australia, we asked you to pencil in some dates for possible user groups in Autumn, and we covered some of our recent work. If there are some points you wish to raise before the next meeting, which will take place on 22nd August 2019 at 10:30 BST, feel free to drop us an email in advance.
